What is Independent Living Services?...Arc Fresno's Independent Living Services Program (ILS) was established as a service to developmentally disabled individuals in Fresno, Kings, and Tulare Counties. Utilizing a Person Centered Plan to establish individualized training services and needs, ILS provides individuals with the opportunity to acquire the functional skills necessary for successful independent living.
Individualized Services
for Success:
An array of support services and guidance are offered in the following
areas:
ILS also works in conjunction with:
Phase
II
For individuals who have successfully completed Phase I of the program or
have experience living independently and have been assessed as not requiring
intensive training. Specific areas for additional training and goals are
established by the individual and support staff.
Parenting
A specialized program for parents with developmental disabilities
and their families. Services include, but are not limited to: building parenting
skills, developing appropriate parent/child relationships, linking families
to the appropriate community resources, nutritional guidance and cooking,
budgeting and housekeeping.
Referral
and Acceptance
Referrals to the ILS program are made primarily by the Central Valley Regional
Center, although services can be secured privately. An entry meeting and
evaluation are conducted with each new program participant and support staff
to establish service needs.
