Reedley Training Center
...Reedley Training Center (RTC), a division of Arc Fresno, was established in 1973 to serve the needs of developmentally disabled individuals in the Reedley Community. RTC currently serves individuals with mild, moderate and severe developmental disabilities.

RTC encompasses three main components that make up an exciting, and often challenging day for the consumers, while Reedley businesses receive valuable services. All three components are designed to encourage one's independence and involvement in their community.

Community Integration...Through visits to local stores consumers learn money management, price comparison shopping and how to make purchases. Consumers also learn good public safety skills and proper behavior in a variety of everyday community situations.

Vocational Training... RTC provides vocational training for their consumers by taking on paid service contracts in the community. Service contracts include window washing, Janitorial and Landscape services, flyer distribution and trash pick up.

Social and Recreational Development... Training supervisors at RTC schedule weekly recreational activities. These activities include visits to the Fresno Zoo and local museums, and participation in local bowling leagues, The Special Olympics, the Fishing Club, Adaptive P.E. Class at Reedley College and a Senior's Gardening Class. The goal in to provide the consumers the opportunity to enjoy the recreational resources their community has to offer, and to develop social and recreational skills.
