The open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday at the Loewen Achievement Center was a success! We would like to thank those that were able to join us to celebrate the grand opening of our wonderful new state-of-the-art facility. Arc Executive Director, Lori Ramirez, hosted the event, which began with guest speakers including: City Council Member, Paul Caprioglio; Board President, Carolyn Wallace; Director of Program Services, Jamie Marrash; Client, Grant Rader; CVRC Executive Director, Robert Reddick; ADA Coordinator, Shannon Mulhall; and Carl Loewen’s son, Jerry Loewen.
The new facility, located near Ashlan and Hwy 168, is dedicated to our long time friend, supporter, and advocate, Carl Loewen. Carl is considered to have been a pioneer in establishing services for citizens of the valley with developmental disabilities. Carl’s son, Doug, continues to attend our programs today, and the Loewen family is both proud and honored to receive this dedication.
Immediately following the ribbon cutting ceremony, attendees had the opportunity to tour the new 15,000 square foot building, which has been enhanced in order to provide a more comfortable, interactive and engaging experience for our clients. Everyone seemed to really enjoy seeing our clients taking advantage of the new space. Below are pictures taken at the event, and of the new facility.
